This is an excellent opportunity to bring your facilities and project management skills to one of the world's most renowned medical and academic institutions. The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking 2 individuals to assist in the management of 155,000 SF that houses the research, teaching, and administrative areas of the Dept. of Pathology and Lab Medicine. You will triage requests for goods and services (facilities modifications, equipment repairs, furniture, phones, keys, etc.); initiate orders and oversee installations (furniture, utilities, cabling, equipment, etc.); reconcile invoices; maintain databases; diagram plans to scale; oversee office and lab moves; run the furniture recycling program; and handle a variety of other tasks related to the safe and efficient management of a facility supporting scientists and other personnel engaged in precise and demanding education and laboratory research projects.
Required Skills:
You must be comfortable handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions, cooperatively supporting a busy and demanding building population. You must be organized, have superb attention to detail, and be able to analyze/solve problems effectively. The ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and grammatically is essential. For position #1, experience must include facilities/lab and/or project management in a research, scientific, or healthcare setting with demonstrated solid knowledge of safe laboratory and facility practices, and you should have experience in overseeing the safe decommissioning of a research laboratory in compliance with all pertinent regulations. A high comfort level with Outlook, Word/Excel/Access, and non-key access controls such as BruinCard, Locknetics, Omni, & King Cobra locks is preferred. Position #2 will emphasize responsibility for all space and key database functions, supply ordering, and daily office upkeep; and excellent computer skills are essential. Salary $3217-$5787/mo.
