Project Manager

Looking for 2 Project Managers for a 9+ month contract in Tempe, AZ.  This position has potential to go permanent down the road if interested as well.  Manager is looking for 2 Project managers, requirements with 5+ years of recent Project Management experience.

 

Description:
* Experience managing multiple, fast-paced projects simultaneously
* Understanding of PM and SDLC methodologies, but needs to be able to work in a non-structured "get her done" environment
* Ability to write business/functional requirements and coach business units to write their own "quality" requirements.
* Experience w/ PM scheduling tools (we use Primavera, but MS project is good too - knowledge is transferable)
* Personal traits should include patience, resourcefulness, analytical, and detail-oriented
*Applicant must be willing to dive in and learn new applications with little guidance or documentation
* Ability to communicate effectively (naturally) is a must (long-winded people only frustrate my customers - "to the point" is better)


Oversees and lead all aspects of assigned projects (including definition of project scope/objectives, development of project plan and schedule, budget and resource plan, status reporting, project development, implementation and project closure). Understand and communicate the tactical and strategic implications of the projects. Develops and oversees project team(s), including allocation of work assignments among team members. Negotiates for resources (as required) within the context of the project objectives, requirements, and priorities. Primary interface with business owner(s)/customer(s) and all other areas/individuals affected by the project. This includes requirements gathering, gap analysis, risk assessments, associated costs and overall project communication. Ensures proper project document requirements and deliverables are clearly defined and delivered. Conducts project meetings; completes project tracking/analysis reports; reports to AWT management and business owners regarding project progress, issues, and risks. Oversees vendors, as required; tracks/reviews vendor deliverables, approves vendor invoices/timesheets. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Manages project budget; reports budget status and acts as liaison with Controller(s), as appropriate. Assists and mentors other PMs where needed. Manages Technology requests and all projects within project management tool forwork group.

 

Minimum Requirements:
* 5 + years professional Project Management experience
* 8+ years professional IT experience
* Experience with IT methodologies and project management tools
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
* Strong organizational skills for development, communication, management, and coordination of multiple projects/schedules
* PMI certification preferred, but not required
* Finance, HR Revenue Management, Cargo experience a plus
* Bachelors Degree preferred.  Any Project Management training or certifications a plus.
* Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
