Deposit Services Supervisor

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing high quality customer service, cross selling, comprehensive, prompt and efficient handling of customer transactions. Supervises and participates in all activities engaged in receiving and paying out money and daily bank operations by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

Actively promote product and services.  Maintain a good knowledge of all products and services offered.

 

Is accountable for representing the bank to the customers in a courteous, professional manner.

 

Assigns duties and work schedules to workers to ensure efficient functioning of department.

 

Effectively organize and plan workflow to perform job functions in a timely manner.

 

Trains employees in customer service and banking procedures.

 

Approves checks for payment.

 

Effectively handle customer complaints.

 

Examines Tellers' reports of daily transactions for accuracy.

 

Ensures supply of money for financial institution's needs based on approved policy limits. 

 

Allows customers access to safe deposit boxes, following specified procedures.

 

Monitors and reviews financial institution's security procedures and control access to vault.

 

Counts and records currency and coin in vault or supervises the person responsible for the vault.

 

Issues written and oral instructions.

 

Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

 

Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

 

Will perform all Teller and CSR duties when necessary.

 

Contacts customers on NSF/Unposted report.

 

Remain at the bank after closing, as necessary, to help balance the bank’s daily activities and totals.

 

Through community contacts and activities, assist the bank Executive Officer in representing the Bank in the promotion of good customer relations.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises two or more employees in a small bank.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.  Two or more years related experience and/or training. Supervisory experience is necessary. Must test out of all Internal Classes for Teller and CRS Training. 

Skills: PC fundamentals, Ability to operate Vertex.  Must have a good understanding and how to operate Jack Henry, Silverlink, PinPoint, RVI Imaging system and Microsoft Outlook. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and APY.

 

 

 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.

Minimum discomfort from noise, heat, dust, and other causes.  Exposed to a potentially hazardous condition- robbery.  Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the risk.
