The proposed merger with Golden West Financial Corporation (NYSE: GDW), parent of World Savings Bank, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2006, pending shareholder and regulatory approval. With this proposed merger, Wachovia would strengthen its position in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey and New York, and enter attractive metropolitan areas in five additional states: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Nevada. The combined company would serve banking customers through 3,400 offices in 21 states and Washington, D.C. In addition, Wachovia would gain mortgage lending operations under the World Savings Bank name in 39 states.

Requirements:

You will review and decision consumer purpose real estate credit applications within assigned lending authority. This includes recommending decisions and obtaining concurrence for loans outside of authority level; analyzing financial and other information to support structuring and approval of loans; documenting justification for decision and recommended warranted exceptions; analyzing collateral and performing calculations and required analyses. You will also proactively increase consumer loan sales by recommending appropriate up sale and cross sale opportunities to all business partners and customers.

Five plus years’ consumer lending experience required, with consumer real estate loan review preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of loan structuring, products, and legal issues is essential, as is a thorough understanding of real estate products, Federal, State, and local banking regulations. Proven ability to analyze personal tax returns including schedules, financial statements, and calculate DI and LTV and other data to make the loan is required. Experience providing superior customer service and negotiating via e-mail and phone interaction is also desired.
