Commercial Loan Collateral Associate

Summary Responsible for the auditing, maintenance and security all commercial loan collateral files.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepare and organize new commercial loan collateral files according to correct department standards.

 

Review all new commercial loan collateral file documents for perfection of security interest and adherence to policies and procedures.

 

Enter all new commercial loan documents into the collateral tracking system.

 

Verify new collateral loan documents for completeness.

 

File all original commercial loan collateral files and maintain in a secure environment.

 

Monitor and track all collateral items held at all banking locations.

 

Renew expiring insurance and UCC’s in a timely and accurately manner.

 

Provide permanent records of  collateral loan files by scanning, indexing and filing.

 

Maintain collateral logs for the receipt of loan documents on a daily basis.

 

Retrieve, research and process collateral maintenance requests sent to the Collateral e-mail box.

 

Process paid loan documents and release collateral.

 

Answer internal calls regarding the centralized commercial loan documents.

 

Process incoming mail and update collateral tracking system with document information.

 

Maintain and update monthly exception tracking reports.

General knowledge of commercial lending.

 

Experience with JHA system and Baker One Point system.

 

Keyboarding experience.

Must enjoy working with numbers and computer terminal.

Attention to detail.

Strong organization skills with the ablility to handle multiple tasks.

Ability to work as a team member.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as process and and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Lotus Notes; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
