Call Center Rep/Loan Officer -Plaquemine Location

Dow Louisiana Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for the position of Call Center Rep/Loan Officer at our main facility in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Candidates must be willing to work three rotating shifts (Example-One week at each shift: Week #1 7:15am-4:15pm, Week #2 10:30am - 7:30pm and Week #3 8:00am - 6:00pm) and 1-2 Saturdays a month.


POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for explaining Credit Union services and products to existing and potential members in order to establish account relationships. Responsible for responding to member’s request, inquiries and/or problems relating to products, services and procedures applicable to both the depository and lending functions. Responsible for handling Lending applications and E-Service programs.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

(includes but not limited to)Receives member telephone calls that are originated in the call center queue.Responsible for ensuring calls are handled thoroughly and concisely.Verifies information with member prior to disconnecting any calls.Explains Credit Union products and services to members and potential members.Delivers exceptional member service at all times.Responsible for monitoring call volume and seek assistance during periods of high volume. Responds to members’ requests, inquiries and problems. Solves issues related to either depository or lending functions. Originates loans over the phone, fax or in person (lobby).Supports Credit Union service initiatives such as online services (bill pay, epal, instant messaging, online applications and etc).Identifies sales opportunities and markets Credit Union products by telephone.Participates in various inbound/outbound campaigns to foster member retention and generate sales.Executes teller transactions, account transactions and loan transactions in a timely and accurate manner.Continually keeps up to date with regard to services and product knowledge in order to handle most inquiries with minimum supervision.Actively promotes the Credit Union sales programs to members and encourages solutions to member life issues. Responsible for promoting all products/services to include, but not limited to; loans products, deposit products, GAP, warranty maintenance, credit life and credit disability to Credit Union members.Processes and underwrites all loan request and completes corresponding paperwork. Reviews credit reports and makes appropriate lending decisions based on credit usage. Recommends alternatives for members not qualifying for loans. Cross sells products to Credit Union members by explaining various services available and assists members in selecting these services. Assists members to defuse problem situations in a productive way, along with following-through to ensure the issue has been satisfactorily resolved. Provides assistance to members in understanding statements, perform interest calculations and resolve statement related issues.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma.

Some college coursework completed preferred.

Two to three (2- 3) years of previous lending experience in a financial institution setting preferred.

Credit Union or banking experience a plus

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing Credit Union members and projecting a positive image to members.

Excellent communication skills.
