Compass Bank is currently seeking an experienced professional to research, prospect, develop and close profitable qualified plan business within Alabama and most of Florida markets.  Office will be located at Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

Responsibilities:  Initiates contact with various institutional prospects, while developing direct knowledge for the client’s specific needs and then offering multiple value-added solutions to address those needs. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of various ERISA rules and regulations, investment analysis, as well as a thorough understanding of IRS plan documents.  Actively develop relationships with various commercial and/or corporate bankers to generate prospect referrals, which can in turn be worked and closed. Conceives, develops and makes sales presentations to prospective clients. 

 

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study required.  Must have previous qualified plan sales experience, gained through verifiable work experience with a bank, a mutual fund company, brokerage house, insurance provider, record keeper, or other related entity.  Must be able to discuss retirement plan concepts, ERISA law, trust law, investment strategies, and be able to discuss fiduciary solutions with qualified plan sponsors.  At least three years proven experience in defined contribution sales, and have a solid background in developing leads also required.  Must possess NASD Series 6, 63 and applicable insurance, Series 7 preferred. A solid working knowledge of various investment allocation and management methodology, retirement plan products, custody and other related products.  Must be able to work independently, thrive in a goal-oriented, professional environment, and represent the bank in a positive manner.
