Materials Analyst

This position is located at the Montgomery, AL facility.

Assist the receiving Materials handler in checking in production Materials deliveries.  Verify deliveries and paperwork matches packing slip.
Monitor the Master Program throughout the day to insure that any error messages are responded to quickly to prevent problems with building and shipping to the Customer.
Update the “862 Report” each day, analyzing it for errors, and distribute the report to Materials and Production management.
Update and issue the Production Performance report and the Kick-In & Kick-Out report each day.
Monitor seat shipments to customer to insure timeliness.
Review and enter daily receivers for accuracy into the Production Control System.  Write and enter Discrepancies as they occur.
Review the daily MRP Summary Report, analyze it for problems (i.e. shortages, over ships, etc.) and discuss with Materials Management.  Follow up on problems by contacting suppliers and trucking companies to resolve the issues.
Perform MRP procedures on Monday of every week, or more frequently as needed.
Process and review daily the Supplier Delivery Schedule.
Perform weekly analysis of Supplier releases, being observant of fluctuations and variance from the previous weeks’ release.
Maintain frequent contact with the suppliers regarding part release information, and resolve all problems that may arise.
Record all expedited freight charges on an Expedited Freight System.
Conduct cycle counts as required to verify questionable inventory levels and submit documentation to the Materials Supervisor for further review.
Insure that all Materials Handlers are present for the start of shift.
Provide month end reports on premium freight, supplier on-time delivery, inventory turns and in transit to the Materials Supervisor.  Assist in conducting physical inventories as they may occur.
Assists in managing and maintaining the 5S Program for all departmental activities.
Examine daily audit report for receipts, returns and adjustments to insure match of Bill of Laden Number, Part Number, and quantity with supporting receivers.
Run daily system report, which includes production, shipping, bench, edit bench, frozen cost, and nightly batch.

Education Required
High School Graduate and two (2) years of College, and/or APICS certification, strong verbal skills, computer literate skills in MS Word & MS Excel (MS Access a plus)
Experience Required
Six months (6) to three (3) years experience in Materials, Production Control, or Inventory Control with knowledge of MRP and Parts Planning Process.
