RENTRAK CORPORATION is an information management company serving clients in the entertainment, media, retail, and advertising industries.

SUMMARY:
The Research Methodologist contributes to major project initiatives to meet the goals and objectives of product development for a census level television measurement product. Position will contribute to the design of methodologies for television research reports such as: ratings reports, ratings flashes, programming schedules, telecast reports, audience flow, advertising metrics, real time reporting, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· The methodologist serves as a resource for examining current methods vs. the opportunity to improve on those methods through the use of census level data.
· Will work with Statistician to design internal checks and balances and prepare for independent auditing process.
· Work with sales teams and executive management to educate on current industry practices, including pros and cons based on industry feedback.
· Contribute to the initiation of research ideas and monitor procedures for quality control.
· Ensure that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

Required:
· Proficiency in Nielsen Systems and measurements (Galaxy Explorer/N-Power/Market Breaks)
· Expertise using consumer based studies such as MRI, Simmons, Forrester, Roper, JD Power, etc.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in survey research methodologies or related field.
· Strong research and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications.
· Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
· An interest and knowledge of television research business, programming and scheduling and the industry a must.
· Human Relations skills to develop and maintain effective relations and communications with all levels of software developers and management.
· Willingness to relocate to the beautiful city of Portland, OR

Desired:
· Knowledge and experience in SPSS and/or SAS, including multivariate analyses
· Experience with TNS
