Crew Planner

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The purpose of this position is to produce cost effective flight schedules for each month in compliance with of the IBT contract, FAR’s and company policies.

 

Initiates flight crew schedules to ensure maximum utilization of the crewmembers and reduction of overall operating costs. The ability to focus on a 30 – 60 hour window to cover all known and projected flying. Maintain a positive working relationship with Sales & Marketing, Crew Scheduling, Crew Travel, Crew Training, In-Flight, Flight Operations, Payroll and IBT unions. Monitors schedules with the ability to take necessary action or adjust schedules in a timely matter that would be better cost effective and better utilization for the flight attendants while following IBT contract and FAR’s. Administer and award yearly vacations in accordance with the IBT guidelines. Assist on finalizing special pay request. Prepare two types of bid lines and process bid awards in accordance with the IBT contract. The ability to load all schedules into the crew tracking computer system on a monthly basis.Some weekends and holidays required.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES The ability to plan and make decisions instantly that would be most cost effective for the crew members and the Company.

 Strong analytical and customer service skills.

 Working knowledge of AIMS crew tracking system, Microsoft Excel and Word.

 Strong knowledge of airline operations.

 At least 2 years of Crew Planning or Crew Scheduling experience.
