Chief Pilot - FAR Part 135

Recent Experience Must Qualify under FAR Part 119 for Chief Pilot

 

Job Purpose:

Supervises full-time and contract pilots.  Oversees pilot scheduling, training, standardization and checking.

Represents the company to advance FAR part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. 

As Pilot-in-Command, transports passengers and freight by flying aircraft to destinations and maintaining safe operations. 

 

Duties:

Chief Pilot

*Responsible for updating company operating manuals, compliance statements and Ops Specs.

 

*Ensures safe practices are perpetuated by line pilots through procedures and example.

 

*Interacts with Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance and General Manager to advance the business, enable growth and protect reputation as a safe, customer oriented air carrier.

 

Pilot-in-Command (CE-500/550, BE200)
* Organizes flight by studying load and fuel requirements; ordering requirements; verifying crew availability; preparing and filing flight plan.

* Prepares for safe flight by completing external and internal preflight inspections; correcting deficiencies.

* Flies to destination by following flight plan; monitoring flight operations; managing flight deck and cabin; resolving emergencies.

* Maintains safe operations by complying with and enforcing federal aviation administration, company, and airport regulations; reporting maintenance requirements.

* Completes reports by entering required information.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by completing proficiency tests; reviewing professional publications.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must possess a working knowledge of FAR Part 135 sufficient to lead company through certification process.
