This permanent, full-time position is located in Salem and will manage 2 to 4 technical employees, including meteorologists, in activities related to weather and smoke management forecasting and monitoring, operation of the Oregon Smoke Management Plan, issuance of debris flow warnings, utilization of forest biomass, and other related activities. Requires 5 years’ experience in supervision, staff-technical, or professional-level work related to meteorology. This experience must have included at least 1 year of supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included one or more of the following areas: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, or d) budget preparation. A Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field may be substituted for up to 3 years’ the required experience but will not substitute for the 1 year of specialized experience. Salary is $3,287 to $5,078/month + excellent benefits. EEO/AA.
