We are seeking an experienced hands-on Grower for our Loxahatchee, Florida facility in West Palm Beach County. The ideal candidate will have a proven successful track record of growing a wide variety of plants in a diverse growing environment.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Coordination and actualization of the production plan.Spending time in the field and in the greenhouses, reviewing crop conditions and making chemical application recommendations.Managing and directing the work of Section Supervisors.Supervising the work of Production personnel to accomplish and deliver the grow plan with maximum quality while achieving cost containment.Ensuring that crop finishing dates are met in a timely fashion.Management of chemical applications training programs, schedules and personnel.Crop data management.Production planning, budgeting, ordering and vendor communications.Hiring, training and development and termination of production staff.Safety program implementation and training.

 

Skills and qualifications include but are not limited to:

 Broad based horticultural knowledge and proven success in a nursery environment.Excellent people management skills.Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual Spanish a plus but not required.Solid math, analytical and problem solving skills.Solid computer skills, including Word and Excel.Ability to operate heavy equipment.Solid and thorough knowledge of best uses of PGRs, pesticides, and fungicides for optimal effectiveness and cost containment.Love of working outdoors.
