ITT has an opening for a Systems Administrator and Technical Support Representative (SA/TSR) for it's northern Virginia operations.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and systems administration services to the ITT Defense office in McLean, VA. and Space Systems office in Merrifield, VA.

Reports directly to the Space Systems Division, Infrastructure Manager, with indirect reporting to IM site managers. Will maintain close communications and liaison with the office managers at both locations.

This computer professional will:

Provide technical assistance, support, and advice to customers and other users. Troubleshoot, interpret problems and provide technical support for hardware, software, and systems. Install, modify, clean, and repair computer hardware and software.

Answer telephone calls from ITT Defense users and may run remote and automatic diagnostics programs to resolve problems. Monitor and document problem calls, analyze problems using automated diagnostic programs, and resolve recurrent difficulties.

Train computer users in the proper use of computer hardware and software.

Oversee the daily performance of the McLean computer systems and serve as needed to the Merrifield operations. Insure Server backup schedules are met and offsite storage of Disaster Recovery information is accomplished.

The SA/ TSR will collaborate with teams and individuals to effectively maintain the desktop and server environment at McLean and Merrifield. Serve as a consultant and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of IT systems security. Assist in the isolation and recovery of spills and accidental disclosure. Collaborate with the leadership team in the isolation of viruses, and participate in internal/ external audits.

Serve as a technical representative of ITT, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with employees and contractors at the Merrifield and McLean ITT locations.

An Associates degree in information technology, computer science or four years of recent experience in information technology services is required.

Desired attributes:

* Strong and effective communication skills, having the ability to interact professionally with a staff of Senior ITT Executives
* Independent performer ' can learn new technologies quickly, with minimal support and guidance;
* Experience working with UNIX and Windows (both desktop and server) operating systems.
*Understanding of, or experience with, Active Directory.
* Experience patching Microsoft operating systems
* Experience troubleshooting hardware and software
* Experience with TCP/IP networking concepts
* General ability to assemble, troubleshoot and repair PCs and associated equipment
* Experience supporting,debugging and resolving issues with Email (Outlook, Exchange) systems, users' desktops and laptops.
* Skilled in delivering responsive, quality customer service utilizing proven customer service, problem solving and organizational skills.
* Must be able to physically locate and transport computer equipment. This requires ability to walk, drive, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience communicating, collaborating and negotiating with customers. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

United States citizenship is required. Candidate selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
