Purchasing Agent

Purchasing Agent Description: We are looking for a skilled buyer who is looking for a growth opportunity with a great aerospace company. You will be responsible for obtaining from responsive, responsible and qualified suppliers, the required goods and services of appropriate quality, in the proper quantity, delivered on contracted schedule and at the lowest ultimate cost to the company and our customers. You will analyze Engineering Requirements and Inventory levels for best buy decisions; must estimate miscellaneous usage such as spares support and scrap replacement, blue print interpretation for appropriate supplier selection for bidding process, interface between suppliers and Engineering group regarding producibility issues and to ensure compliance to drawing and specification requirements and supplier evaluation and qualification, in concert with the Supplier Certification Team, in order to develop and maintain an adequate vendor base and attain first pass acceptance of 99% through Receiving Inspection. You will be responsible for placing competitive bids and value analysis, negotiations and continuous cost reductions, negotiating contracts in support of long range production runs such as an OEM program, proper Purchase Order execution in regards to scheduled deliveries per cash flow mandates, shop floor planning, quality requirement notes and terms and conditions, attainment and improvement of direct material budgets; monthly program cost projections. You will be expected to provide leadership and direction in procurement practices and policies to Purchasing Agents, establish healthy business partnerships, both internally and externally, with strong communications and development of loyalties and trust. and extend customer's requirements and business unit objectives to suppliers.

Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of professional buying experience and an Associates degree or equivalent professional experience required. Candidates will have proven communication and organizational skills, be computer literate; Proficient in Microsoft Office and applicable manufacturing software and have excellent customer service skills. Excel in team oriented culture, contracts background is preferred and have a strong analytical capability. Professional certifications desirable; CPIM, CPM or APP
