Principal Systems Engineer - Air Launch

Bachelor's in Engineering plus a minimum 5 years of related experience. Candidate must be a US Citizen and must have a DOD Secret clearance or the ability to acquire and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance.
Position will be part of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) air launch targets programs including the Medium Range Target (MRT), RDC-SRALT, and Flexible Target Family (FTF). In this position, the candidate will lead air launch support equipment systems engineering activities and also manage numerous contractual engineering deliverables and ensure their timely delivery to the customer. The candidate will interface with the customer and other subcontractors at technical interchange meetings to resolve interface issues and requirements problems. The candidate will author/manage ICDs and perform requirements tracing and verification activities associated with them. The candidate will also support the Program Engineering Manager by performing a wide variety of technical management tasks, such as creating program review presentations, providing status on engineering analyses, coordinating waiver submittals, and representing the program at management meetings. Technical oversight of the air launch support equipment subcontracts will include responsibility of contractual directive documents and review of subcontract deliverables. Strong emphasis will be placed on orchestrating air launch systems Orbital technical review and interfaces from various functional disciplines including mechanical engineering, propulsion, electrical engineering, GNC and software. Responsibilities will also include supporting the Air force certification process for the SRALT and MRT missions. Travel will be required in support of launch services involving air launch systems integration activities. Other duties as required.
