JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The successful incumbent would be expected to design and supervise the construction of aircraft and associated parts including airframe, auxiliaries, communication equipment, controls, fuselage, and powerplant.  Incumbent would be expected to conduct and analyze research to determine flight characteristics. 

 

Incumbent should possess strong analytical and problem solving ability, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.  Military or DoD experience with UAV aircraft/systems preferred.  Tactical UAV experience would be a definite plus.

 

Responsibilities for day-to-day problem solving and team support may include, but are not limited to the following:Maintaining UAVs for full operation, involving regular inspections, maintenance, and servicingParticipating in flight test programs to measure take-off distance, rate of climb, stall speeds, maneuverability, and landing capacitiesMeasuring and improving the performance of the aircraft, components and systems which may include developing design specifications and components to strict standardsAssisting in resolving any issues that arise during the design, development, and testing processesSupervising the assembly of airframes and the installation of engines, instruments and other equipmentAnalyzing and interpreting data to create technical reports and then communicating the results and regulatory advise to customers, teams, and the appropriate personnel
