ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS DESIGN

JOB DUTIES: The selected candidate will be responsible for the

development, coordination, and release of engineering design products

such as functional schematics. The position available is in 787

Mechanical Hydraulic Systems. The position will require the definition,

maintenance, and release of engineering product data in electronic

datasets or drawings. Designs and engineering data must be reviewed to

ensure they are integrated, clearly communicated, accurate, under

configuration control, complete and that they conform to standards,

procedures, and regulatory requirements. This will require technical

solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using established

organizational policies, practices, and procedures for guidance. The

applicant must be able to independently or under general direction

determine and develop approaches, plans and schedules to accomplishing

the work statement. Assignments will be reviewed upon completion for

adequacy in meeting objectives.

 

JOB SKILLS: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

Must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of general design

principles and concepts relative to Airplane Systems and have knowledge

of related or interfacing groups and disciplines. Primary assignments

will require an understanding of technical processes, practices, and

standards as well as the principles, theories, and concepts within the

electrical area of design. Candidate will apply related data preparation

standards and techniques to utilize company tools and processes to plan,

layout, create, and revise data depicting engineering designs.

Candidates shall be capable of creating group-level processes for tasks

TO SUPPORT SCHEMATIC DEVELOPMENT. Candidates will be capable of

completing designs and related documentation initiated by others.

Experience with commercial airplane design and release processes,

supplier management, and drafting of functional schematics using CADDS

is needed. Candidates with proficiencies with DOORS, MAPPER, SLATE, PDM,

CADDS5/DDMS, and FASTR are needed. Proficiency with standard Microsoft

Office tools is expected. Candidates shall demonstrate excellent

communication, team building, and creative workaround skills to work

well within the 787 Program environment.

Education Preferred education is a 2yr technical degree or equivalent

technical certificate in drafting, design, or pre-engineering and

typically 3 years aerospace industry related design and drafting exp.
