Director of Engineering

Job Summary

Solidify and lead an energized Aviation Maintenance Engineering and Research and Development Team. Ensure Aero Controls meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements including FAA/JAA/EASA, ISO/AS9100 and customer requirements as they pertain to all Engineering and R&D efforts.  

Serve as a cultural leader in teamwork, continuous improvement, customer focus, science and ingenuity.  

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Design, build and implement tooling and test equipment for commercial and military aircraft component applications.  Functions/systems serviced include hydraulics, mechanical,  electronics, electrical, pneumatics, structures and fuel systems.

Design and secure approval of repair processes for sub-component repairs.

Lead aircraft component reliability improvement efforts.

Work with airline and OEM engineering organizations in all facets of repair, testing, and reliability analysis and improvement.

Provide high level involvement in continuous process improvement efforts.

Serve our customers with fire, heart, and teamwork.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering a must.  Masters Degree a plus. 

FAA A&P Certificate preferred (A more important than P)

Significant experience in the MRO industry or equivalent related experience in the armed forces/airlines/aircraft manufacturers/component manufacturers.

Self starter with proven leadership skills.
