CMM Programmer

Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine in support of Customer and Engineering dimensional inspection needs. Perform First Article layouts, probability studies, production inspection routines and partial inspections as required from engineering and manufacturing. Summarize data in layout inspection reports such as AS9102 forms and/or other statistical software such as Microsoft Excel. Analyze acquired data to understand and communicate overall casting dimensional quality as it relates to customer definition and requirements.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

· Establish First Article, probability studies, and production inspection programs using PC-DMIS C.M.M. using Browne & Sharpe language

· Conventional inspection experience (surface plate, optical comparator, radius gauges, etc.) and related techniques. Air Foil inspection experience preferred.

· CAD (Unigraphics) experience preferred so as to be able to implement inspection points into CAD model.

· Interpret and summarize inspection data. Translate inspection data into Layout Inspection Reports (i.e. AS9102 form) including summary of deviations report.

· Maintain detailed records of programs and inspection results.

· Assist product engineers and manufacturing in statistical analysis of dimensional inspection data

· Develop inspection programs using electronic data files provided by engineering and/or directly from the Customer.

· Calibration for inspection equipment and tools in final inspection

· In-process inspection.

· Make technical cards for CMM inspection of parts.

· Ability and willingness to work in other areas as needed. Ability to work in a team environment.

  JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Minimum of a two year technical degree or equivalent experience

· Five to seven years CMM operator or programming experience.  Air foil and layout experience preferred.

· Ability to read, understand, and interpret customer drawings and electronic models.

· CAD experience a plus.

· Ability to work un-supervised

· Ability to work flexible hours.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

· Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

· Ability to work with hands.
