Base Maintenance Planner
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and define the heavy maintenance work scopes for all Alaska Airlines aircraft & engines (C, D SI, and K checks)
Plan and schedule maintenance work packages to ensure minimum aircraft down time and a balanced workload
Facilitate maintenance division activities as they pertain to maintenance actions or work scopes for aircraft in maintenance
Plan and schedule the production workload including, but not limited to, maintenance inspections, time unit changes, deferred maintenance items, Action Authorizations (AAs), Special Inspections, maintenance checks (service checks, C, D, SI, 15k and 30k checks), and the repair/correction of items affecting the airworthiness of the aircraft
Monitor and track the progress/performance of the hangar plan, identify problem areas and initiate recommendations for corrective action when changes occur
Facilitate the timely completion of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Fleet Campaign Directives, and Engineering Orders
Ensure parts and material are scheduled and routed to the job site to support the planned workload
Maintain forecasts, charts, graphs, and other visual data displays relevant to the job assignment
Develop and maintain a hangar plan for the year in progress, and a five year plan, complete with estimated man-hours, span time projections and tail number assignments
Build work control packages for aircraft scheduled for C, D, SI and K checks and other special project work from sources both within and outside the maintenance department
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Embody the Alaska Spirit and conduct oneself with Integrity, Professionalism, Resourcefulness, and Caring
- Possess five years Airline industry experience-preferably in planning and/or maintenance
- Possess technical experience in heavy transport aircraft maintenance at the heavy check level
- Experience with Septre/Arctic computer systems
- Experience with Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro and Powerpoint
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be organized/detail oriented and a team player.
- Some college and an A&P license is preferred
