Online Marketing Manager
A boutique division of a 47-year old publishing company has grown from an experimental venture of personal hobby interest to the company’s CEO, to an amazing online success story now needing its own dedicated staff and facilities. You’ll be among the first and most important of this dedicated staff, have a lot of fun in a fast-growth environment, and make serious money if you have the right chops for the job. And, the risk period is already out of the way – the operation is profitable already, so there’s no “irrational exuberance” to worry about.
Check out the site before responding - www.lowergear.com - and see what you think. It’s quite simple actually. Just on a part-time basis we managed to become the world’s largest online rental source of camping gear and GPS navigational units. We ship this gear and equipment all over the country to vacationing and business customers from all over the world, and they ship it back. Easy enough, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the publishing we’ve done for decades, which is why we’re now looking for a full-time Online Marketing Manager to take the four-year foundation we’ve laid and run with it to the next level.
You’ll be busy, but as long as you’re making us money, you’ll be well compensated for your efforts. If you’re only used to being a cog in a wheel at Faceless Corporation, Inc, with lots of departments and support staff to help you out, this probably isn’t the job for you. Here you’ll report directly to the CEO, who’ll expect you to do what it takes to get the job done for his favorite project without a lot of baby-sitting. A too flippant attitude for you? If it is, you’re right - this isn’t the right job for you for another reason. But if you can relate, keep reading.
We’re looking for a candidate that knows a lot about a lot of things in a variety of marketing fields. Search engine optimization; PPC programs; link development; traditional media advertising programs; negotiating new business relationships with partners and affiliates; making recommendations to our web developers on improving the site; and evaluating new rental product ideas will be a few of your responsibilities.
In how many of these things do you consider yourself well versed? We believe this will be a great opportunity for someone certainly with prior e-commerce experience, but you probably need some prior time in a business-to-business sales environment as well so you really know what it means to earn your keep. Having some experience in the outdoor, rental, travel or publishing worlds would be helpful as well. This position will be based in the Airpark area in Scottsdale, AZ, with expected hire date by early November. Nominal, if any, travel involved.
We don’t care what college you did or didn’t go to; who you do or don’t know; how old you are or are not; or what you do in your free time. We are just concerned whether you can do the job and would be easy to get along with on a day-to-day basis. In addition to the typical blah, blah, blah you’ll find on every other stuffy job listing, we’ll offer you a casual but professional small business work environment; a chance to work with and learn from proven entrepreneurial veterans; a base salary with a realistic 6-figure opportunity; and flexible hours and frequent time off to spend those hard earned bucks. Ownership track a possibility for an elite candidate.
If you believe you have what it takes and would be someone we’d be interested in, drop us a resume and convince us. Do that by emailing your relevant info cut and pasted inside the email body text; do not send your resume as an attachment, unless using the "Apply Now" feature. Use "Marketing Manager Resume" as the subject line.
