Job Description:

Under moderate supervision, schedule and interview patients and record necessary information applicable to type of examination.  Document personal information and verify patient insurance benefits to ensure proper payment of services.

 

Requirements:



High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Knowledge of: 



Medical terminology.

Basic anatomy.

Knowledge of insurance coverage and various plan provisions pertaining to authorized services, providers and eligibility requirements.

Customer service principles and practices.

Basic typing and computer knowledge.



 

Ability to:

Operate a personal computer including basic word processing.

Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.

Operate standard office equipment.

Read, interpret and accurately verify plan coverage provisions.

Communicate effectively with patients, providers and physicians’ staff.

Handle telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette.

 

Special Requirements:

OSHA Class III, no exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
