Legal Compliance Specialist

Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Legal Compliance Specialist in our
Indianapolis, IN facility.
The successful candidate will:
Assist legal counsel with requesting, reviewing and organizing materials for
transactions and other related business matters in the procurement organization.
Previous procurement background is required. There will be a strong involvement in all
aspects of the procurement department including a wide range of responsibilities
related to litigation, document and file management and client outreach and
communication. The candidate will conduct initial review of legal matters, make
follow-up requests both internally and externally, collect and analyze information,
draft letters, organize legal counsel conferences and meetings and represent legal
counsel at meetings when needed. Additionally the candidate will conduct training
courses. This position requires the candidate to interact with various departments and
senior level managers, and perform routine office duties and special projects,
including monitoring and following up with business units to ensure timely responses to
inquiries. The candidate will conduct basic legal research and have basic familiarity
with Lexis or Westlaw research database. Analyzing complex legal documents as well as
NDA database management and legal project management will be included in this position
as well. Candidate will have a general knowledge of contracts and legal issues related
to contracts. This position also requires a thorough understanding of DFAR regulations.
Position requirements include:
Basic: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. Aerospace Procurement Experience
required. Good understanding of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations;
specifically Berry Amendment. Minimum of 2-5 years of legal experience working with
in-house counsel or a law firm. Previous SAP experience with concentration on the PIB
process required.
Preferred: Demonstrated ability to coordinate and accomplish tasks of varying
complexity through the application of technical, administrative, organizational and
analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated
written and verbal instructions, interpret regulations and the ability to communicate
both orally and in writing at a professional level. Proficient in Microsoft
Applications. Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task. Database management
experience. A strong command of grammar, punctuation, spelling and proofreading. Follow
written and oral instructions with little supervision; work autonomously. Communicate
effectively both orally and in writing. Be willing to travel 25% of the time (Domestic
and International). Accept other responsibilities for any other projects of tasks
assigned by Legal Counsel.
