Description
Provide training and education to Army parents of school age children. Draft skills-based parenting educational programs and classes on child development, child safety, and discipline. Link families with community resources and encourage Army family participation in community activities. provide brochures, flyers, and contact information to families, couples, teens, children, and individuals for spouse abuse, child abuse, child neglect, and sexual assault prevention and education services behavioral skill training; and support groups. Provide support services as an alternate Victim Advocate (VA) and Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and share in the on-call VA/SARC on-call rotation. NOTE: Possibly one full-time or two part-time positions. Please indicate if looking for FT or PT.
Required Skills
Bachelors Degree (4 year) in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field is required. Must have a minimum of one year of directly related specialized experience in conducting interactive workshops; presenting blocks of instruction and information to groups of adults and children; and at least one full year of specialized experience related to child and spouse abuse prevention. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel. Must be a U.S. citizen, provide proof of education, and able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC). Required Experience
Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree, knowledge of the Military and Army Community Service is helpful. Foreign languages and knowledge of the Family Advocacy program are a plus.
