CATEGORY ANALYST – OHIO VALLEY REGION

 

Job Description:

The category analyst position will contribute to the growth and profitability of the packaged ice cream and frozen snack (novelty) categories as well as the Edy’s/Nestle brands.  The role of this position will be to interface with Edy’s personnel and key customers in the Ohio Valley (Michigan, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Indiana and Louisville) on schematic initiatives and supporting the Edy’s sales staff in our fact based selling efforts through miscellaneous data pulls and analysis.  This position is an integral part of the sales and management teams.  Responsibilities include schematic development and maintenance, creation of yearly schematic books by area, vivid image management, miscellaneous data pulls and basic Nielsen reporting.  This position requires 2-3 years of applicable experience.  The position is based in Edy’s Columbus office (Indianapolis office would be the second choice for location) and reports to the Ohio Valley Category Development Manager.

 Skills:

· Strong knowledge of schematic software (Apollo, ProSpace)

· Strong merchandising logic

· Strong user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Analytical ability with potential to strengthen

· Basic knowledge of IRI or Nielsen’s data and database software

· Excellent written & verbal communication skills

· The following is considered a plus:

· Ice Cream and/or Novelty category experience

· Grocery retail experience

· Direct store delivery (DSD) background

· Category Management theory & practice

 Position Requirements:

 

§ BS/BA Degree Preferred

§ 2-3 years of Sales and/or Marketing experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
