Tax Jurisdiction Analyst (Transaction Tax)

Primary Responsibilities include: Providing tax situsing information to the National Telephone Addressing System and Database management Center (DBMC) groups.Set up new tax districts / tax area records as needed by the business.Certify tax situsing information used by Verizon billing systems.Support Verizon's Video launch from a to tax situsing perspective.Respond to inquiries related to customer situsing and related tax applicability issues.Provide Tax Compliance/Tax Research National Tables' information accessible from the mainframe including tax rules, tax rates, Tax District/Tax Area information.Documenting all annexation/de-annexation notices and sharing them with appropriate Transaction Tax/Property Tax individuals.Assist in the coordination of Tax Research updates to both National Tables and Tax Decision DataBase to ensure tax rules are consistent throughout.Assist in the TableStar review process for state certifications, tax rule updates/changes.Support the processing of all Initiatives/BRDs and TableStars on behalf of Transaction Tax in a back up role.

Required Skills and Experience: 2 plus years of experience in the State and Local Tax area and/or experience with Tax Situsing rules and applications.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance/ Accounting related area.Minimum 2 years experience in Sales & Use Tax.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft suite of products.
