The Art Instititute of Phoenix is seeking a Student Accounting Assistant. Responsible for all aspects of cash receipts, customer service and billing.  Assist with 00S collections process.  Assist in all phases of the Student Accounting Office to achieve the common goal of accurate student account processing, maintaining accurate record keeping and the lowest accounts receivable possible operating by the guidelines, policies and procedures of the Art Institute.

2. Responsible for all aspects of collection process to include out of school accounts, collection accounts, posting of all collection agency checks and preparation of their deposits, phone calls, due diligence, letters 1, 2, 3 and the 48 hour letters.  Update phone numbers and addresses. Maintain the movement of accounts through OOS, collection to write off changing to the new agencies as they are moved. Perform maintenance on the payment plan receivables for the Out of School Accounts.  Respond to reports that CS sends to move OOS Accounts to collections and the collection accounts to “write off”. 

 

3. Back up the daily posting of cash receipts and bank deposit preparation.

 

4. Responsible for the bi-monthly running of student statements to include batch audit, setting parameter, maintenance of student accounts and the creation of the bi-monthly statements.

 

5. Create new student and miscellaneous adjustments, check requests and student refunds.

 

6. Update and monitor Holds List; run other reports as necessary.

 

7. Assist with quarterly orientation/registration account review; approve students for financial clearance. .

 

8. Student problem resolution, special assignments, reports, graduate clearance and banking issues.

 

9. Act as backup/assistant for Title IV Drop Calculations.

 

10. Order supplies for the Student Accounting area keeping within the allowable budget.

 

11. Provide back up service for the Student Accounting Window.

 

Organizational Relationships:

Reports to: Student Accounting Supervisor, interacts with entire Student Accounting Team and all levels of the college.
