Staff Accountant

Senior Condsolidations AccountantEnvironmental Systems Products Holdings, Inc., the leader in vehicle emissions and safety testing seeks a full-time Staff Accountant.

 

Character of the Job:

 

Receives specific guidance and direction from Senior Management relative to overall corporate goals and objectives to be achieved.  Exercising independent discretion and judgment, transacts the accounting activities for ESP’s Equipment Business, establishes functional goals and objectives, and directs the completion of actions to accomplish corporate objective.  Completed work is reviewed in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of the function managed and assigned actions completed.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

The Staff Accountant’s main responsibilities are Cost Accounting, Cash control, A/R analysis and reporting, Inter-company transactions, Fixed assets, Month-end close activity (JE and Analysis).

 Month-end analysis, work papers and related journal entries. Tie out monthly inter-company activity and related reconciliation Tie out monthly A/R activity and related reconciliation Close month end cash receipts and process related journal entries and reconciliation Inventory standard cost and price file control Analysis of daily Billing, A/R, Cash, A/P, Inventory, activity. Weekly activity reports Assists the Equipment Business Controller in all other aspects of the Finance and Administration activities of ESP’s Equipment Business.  Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager..

Know How:

 Must have understanding of manufacturing business processes and financial accounting. Needs a fundamental comprehension of financial general ledger accounting, income statements, and balance sheets. Very strong personal computer skills are required.  Must know databases and spreadsheets. Analytical skills and organization are required for reporting.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

2-5 years of experience with Accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting.

Strong computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and general computer knowledge. 

PeopleSoft experience a plus.
