Job Description:

 

The individual will be assigned as a member of one or more specific project teams based in Windsor, CT, and will be responsible for financial oversight of the assigned projects.  Primary focus and accountability of this role is proactive predictable financial management and reporting that enables the project team to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks in order to achieve or surpass project cash flow and gross margin performance goals.

 

Specific responsibilities include maintenance of accurate financial records throughout execution reflecting the status of the projects based on percentage of completion accounting; proactive re-estimation of job cost based upon status; forecasting project income statement and balance sheet reflecting feedback from the project team; regular reporting of financial status; early identification and communication of potential problems and opportunities to support the Project Manager in making sound financial management decisions.

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

BS in Finance or related discipline, plus five to eight years of experience in finance and accounting.

 

Contract financial management experience in a heavy industry, long-cycle project execution business, preferable in a global environment.  (Experience in application of percentage of completion accounting and reporting preferred).  Experience in hedge strategy planning and implementation involving multiple currencies is desirable.

 

Proven competency in proactive identification, communication and management of risks and opportunities to drive financial predictability and achievement of performance goals.  Ability to work effectively under pressure of stringent deadlines.

 

Self-starter who can work independently and as a member of a project team.  Effective leadership and interpersonal skills required to influence collaboration and positive changes in processes and practices.

 

Strong PC skills required, particularly Excel; familiarity with J D Edwards a plus, but not required.
