Senior Lease Accountant

We have an immediate opening for a Lease Accounting Senior to be a part of our Asset Management Group within our Accounting & Finance Department. This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

Responsibilities:
Assist Financial Accounting Manager in preparation and review of monthly depreciation schedules
Ensure proper support and analyses is maintained for depreciation and balance sheet accounts
Assist with on-going standardization of monthly asset reconciliation process and monthly roll-forward of fixed asset accounts
Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of intangible records
Assist in managing physical fixed asset inventory process
Involvement with capital expenditure budget process
Review transactions outside the normal course of operations on issues such as capital vs. operating leases, re-syndications, etc.
Responsible for implementation of departmental internal control procedures relative to month-end close process
Contribute ideas toward improving work flow efficiencies, foster a positive and productive work environment and perform other duties as assigned and as required for this position

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
CPA, CMA, MBA or Masters of Accounting is a plus
Two (2) to Five (5) Years Accounting Experience; healthcare experience preferred
