Revenue Analyst / Accountant

A growing high tech Petaluma based company is looking for a Revenue Analyst/Accountant to report into the Assistant Controller to oversee the company's revenue and equity accounting and play a lead role in the month-end close process.

 

Essential responsibilities:
Revenue accounting and primary accounting interface to the company's Sales Administration function.
Perform revenue and cogs reserve accounting for the company.  Maintain deferred revenue, deferred cogs, and return reserve balance sheet reconciliations each month.
Prepare monthly accounts receivable balance sheet reconciliation and corresponding allowance for bad debt and early-pay discount reserve.
Monitor and enhance revenue recognition processes and controls and provide periodic revenue recognition training to sales.
Equity accounting
Perform all equity accounting for the company including quarterly FAS123R entries, accounting for stock options.
Prepare quarterly equity roll-forward and equity account reconciliations.
Play a lead role in the monthly close process.

 

Job Requirements:
4 year degree in accounting or finance
5-8 years of accounting experience
CPA highly preferred and Big 4 experience
Revenue recognition accounting experience strongly preferred
Equity accounting experience preferred.
Strong analytic skills and able to think independently.  Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Word required.
Excellent team player
