Payroll Assistant

 

The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate and timely processing, handling and maintenance of all payroll records. Specific duties will include the following:

- Create and manage employee files and ensure file information is completed and up to date (e.g. new employee forms, benefit enrollment forms, confidentiality agreements, etc.)
- Liaison with employees and managers to ensure all new hire and employee information is received and updated on time
- Data entry and verification in a fast paced, high volume environment, including time sheets, reconciliations and other administrative functions
- The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate and timely processing, handling and maintenance of all payroll records
- Prepare input sheets for processing of payroll
- Ensure orderly maintenance of all payroll records and reports
- Respond to requests for verifications and garnishments
- Administer payroll control procedures
- Participate in year-end preparations and other special projects
- Assist with the handling of benefit-related forms and administration
- Calculate allowance, retroactive pay adjustments, vacation adjustments and other payroll adjustments
- Process manual checks in specific emergency situations and input into the accounting system
- Assist with the HR department for improving processes overall

- Reconcile federal, FICA, state, local and unemployment taxes for multiple states.

 

 

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of related payroll and benefits administration dealing with both hourly and salaried employees. Experience with Microsoft Office skills is required. The ability to manage competing priorities and multi task, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and possess strong analytical and organizational skills is an important aspect to be successful in this role. Attention to detail and the ability to work with strict deadlines in a team oriented environment are a key job requirement.  Bilingual English/Spanish required.  Timberline software experience a plus.  North Scottsdale location.  Salary $30,000 to $40,000 DOE.  Email resumes to sicohumanresources@yahoo.com
