GL Manager
Responsibilities: This position will manage all accounting activity within the division and support management by providing accurate and timely information.
1. Manage the general ledger, including month-end close activities and preparation of consolidated monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
2. Assure that analysis of all accounts is performed in a timely manner, that proper controls have been applied, and that intercompany ledgers reconcile.
3. Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and develop/refine policies and procedures, with continuous focus on process improvement
4. Analyze complex accounting issues and resolve accordingly
5. Prepare materials for audit and external financial compliance activities
6. Strive to implement and perform internal control procedures in order to help ensure the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
Qualifications:
1. Requires a bachelors degree in accounting with a minimum of seven years of general accounting experience, including a minimum of three years of supervision experience. A thorough understanding of general accounting practices is expected.
2. Advanced computer skills, including general ledger systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word. SAP experience is a plus.
3. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure of deadlines with a demonstrated history of teamwork.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
