Director of Internal Controls

We have an immediate opening for a Director to be a part of an Internal Controls team. This position will be based at Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
Responsibilities:
Key management role requiring subject matter expertise in key financial internal control objectives and processes and their impact on financial reporting across multiple business functions. Reporting to the Vice President, Internal Controls, this position will assume responsibility for supporting the Company's efforts regarding the completion and communication of milestone objectives necessary to properly document, assess, remediate and report conclusions reached regarding the effectiveness of the Company's internal controls over financial reporting.

The primary responsibilities of the position are to support initiatives to comply with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The position will have oversight responsibility for key control objectives falling within Financial Close and Reporting and centralized internal controls environments. These responsibilities include ensuring that a sufficient number of controls exist to support relevant financial statement assertions and that those controls identified are functioning and effective and can be clearly demonstrated to external auditors.

The position will also direct the efforts of internal and external staff to the accomplishment of key control objectives. The Director should be willing to travel to various facilities as required.

Qualifications:
" 4-year college degree in accounting and CPA required. CISA or CIA a plus, MBA preferred
" 10 or more years of professional experience with Internal Controls and/or Internal Audit
" 5 years minimum management experience
" Detailed knowledge and experience with the requirements of 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
" Subject matter expertise in internal control objectives and processes and their impact on financial reporting across multiple business functions
" Must have experience in coordination between consultants and Company employees, selection and supervision of staff and project management office tracking and reporting
" Must be able to perform in a fast-paced, challenging team environment
