Job Summary:

Perform or supervise performance of all aspects of accounting and reporting related to the 1031 Program, the Value Added Fund and the Timber REIT.  Provide direction and oversight to two senior accountants and one external service provider regarding GAAP issues.  Responsible for the timely delivery of all internal/external reporting for these three products. Support the VP/ Controller - Product Accounting by providing timely communication regarding operational, accounting and reporting issues with proposed solutions and facilitating research for internal/external inquiries.  Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, NASD regulations, contracts, partnership agreements, other, as appropriate.

 

 



Job Requirements:B.S. in Accounting C.P.A.8+ years experience (preferred = 5+ in public accounting)

Job Responsibilities: 



 Oversee the monthly closing of the books for 1031 program, Value Added Fund and Timber REIT including preparation and distribution of monthly reporting packages and/ or investor communications as required.Work closely with the operational team assigned to each of these products to create/modify financial reports to meet users needs and respond to ad hoc requests Set up and maintain general ledger related to these three products.Oversee the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual financial statements and other regulatory reports as needed for each of the products.Prepare monthly internal reporting packages for each of these three products as required.Facilitating research, responses and reviews of internal/external inquiries.Ensure compliance with GAAP, NASD, SEC regulations, contracts, and partnership agreements as appropriate.Ensure that accounting policies related to each of these three products and documented and followed.Identify operational, accounting and reporting issues, and propose solutions. Oversee coordination with external accountants and attorneys, supervise the preparation of PBC’s, and ensure timely review of SEC filings and clearance of auditor comments.Oversee the coordinate the preparation and review of financial projections and supporting analyses presented at the quarterly distribution and rate of return analysis meetings with management.Work closely with investor services on projects impacting our group and theirs (i.e. distribution of sales proceeds to investors)Manage other operational and systems projects, as appropriate.Supervise and evaluate accounting seniors and staff
