Credit - A/R Analyst

Position Summary: This position performs two major functions.
Credit Analyst
This role is responsible for accounts receivable collections and credit risk evaluation for assigned customer portfolios including some of Dial´s largest customers. The Credit Analyst identifies collection risks in the portfolio and develops credit limit and collection strategies to reduce the risk. The successful candidate will use financial statement analysis and credit reports to monitor customer financial risks and take action to control bad debt exposure. To improve collections performance, the candidate will identify developing process issues and take effective steps to correct them before they delay payments.

A/R Analyst
This role is responsible for insuring that all A/R related accounting and analysis requirements are met. This includes reporting, account reconciliations, monthly close responsibilities; analysis of complicated transactions including intercompany. The successful candidate must be able to complete special projects as assigned by the Manager of A/R with minimal supervision.
This role is to become the SAP super user for the A/R group.

Responsibilities:

Review daily the accounts receivable position of assigned accounts and work directly with customers, brokers and sales management to promptly collect invoices.
Monitor significant credit risk exposures by reviewing daily sales orders and through routine credit reviews in accordance with the Global Credit Policy.
Ensure major risks are communicated to senior management.
Establish new customer credit lines and periodically review existing customer credit lines in accordance with the Global Credit Policy.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of Dial´s largest customer´s purchasing, receiving, and payable functions and Dial´s systems and processes in order to avoid payment delays.
Administer terms compliance programs in accordance with the Global Credit Policy.
Develop an understanding of bankruptcy case administration to ensure that claims are filed and cases are tracked to maximize potential recoveries.
Perform all assigned Account Reconciliations.
Provide all reports, and analysis to insure the accuracy of the monthly close process.
Review open A/R for "unusual" transactions.
Insure that the SAP system is being utilized at maximum efficiency.
Participate in system testing for upgrades and changes.
Respond to system questions from the A/R group.

 

Requirements:

BS degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or equivalent experience
Credit or Accounting certification (CBF, CCE or CPA) desirable
Superior understanding of financial statements. Must have the ability to make sound credit risk decisions. Operating performance, financial condition and stability from financial statements, as well as other customer credit information must be analyzed and evaluated.
In-depth knowledge of the A/R operation and the associated accounting.
Superior aptitude for systems and spreadsheet utilization. Must already possess strong Excel skills.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team building skills.
Excellent negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in the consumer products industry with at least 2 years in Credit is desirable.
