Controller

Saturn Electronics & Engineering, Inc., a global innovator of electronic, electrical and electromechanical systems, seeks a Controller for our corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

 

The Controller is responsible for providing management with accurate financial reporting and forecasting and ensuring that appropriate systems for control of the company's assets are implemented and consistently practiced.  Manages the work of the Accounting department and oversees the accounting practices of the business units.  Responsibilities include:

 

§  Directs the monthly financial reporting of the company.  Responsible for ensuring that consistent use of the general ledger is practiced in all business and functional units and that financial statements are consolidated and issued timely on a monthly basis.

§  Responsible for the cash management systems of the company including all cash receipts and disbursements to suppliers of products and services and employees.  Maintains bank reconciliation's and analysis of accounts receivable and accounts payable which ensures that receivables are collected on a timely basis and that payables and payrolls are paid in accordance with company policies.

§  Responsible for managing the annual budget process including overseeing the development of department budgets and consolidating and analyzing budgets for accuracy and appropriate measurement of budgeted business growth and improvement programs.

§Responsible for managing the development and analysis of monthly financial forecasts which take into account fluctuations in business trends and the impact of specific issues and opportunities which are expected to impact the future financial results.

§Responsible for development, documentation and implementation of control systems and accounting policies and practices.  Control systems include financial modules and interface to non-financial modules of Business Operating System and the Accounting Policy and Procedure Manual.

§Support cross functional management by providing financial input and judgment to decision processes regarding quotation development, capital expenditure, and other recurring or special programs and projects.

§Support other members of the financial and general management teams in conducting external relationships such as banking, public accounting, Board of Directors, and investors.

§Participate in special projects as appropriate.

§Direct and coordinate payroll function in conjunction with Human Resources.

§Coordinate the annual audit activities with the company’s public accountants.

§Support V.P of Finance and CEO as requested for special projects

 

Education/Experience:

§Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA/CMA/MBA preferred

§Minimum 5 years of related experience showing career progression in financial management including significant supervisory experience.

§Strong background in technical accounting and manufacturing financial analysis.

§Solid understanding of accounting systems and internal controls in an ERP environment.

§Skilled in use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

§Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
