Austal USA, an aluminum shipbuilding company in Mobile, is seeking a highly motivated, hard-working Chief Financial Officer to join our senior Management team.  This is a great opportunity to work in a growing shipyard that has recently received a large Navy Contract.  This position will report to the President/C.E.O of Austal USA.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Monitoring of company financial & accounting functions

· Monitoring the IT functions for the company

· Company Secretarial functions

· Oversee legal agreements and legal action

· Establish and monitor risk management process

· Establish and monitor internal controls & procedures

· Oversee insurance requirements for the company

· Oversee business planning process

· Arranging and reviewing borrowing and bank facilities

· Review of monthly management accounts and cash flows

· Oversee and manage foreign currency transactions

· Oversee company tax returns

· Monitoring of vessel progress payments

· Signing chouse and telegraphic transfers

· Control and organize vessel handovers

· Liaise with Bankers

· Management of the accounting team

 

Required Qualifications:

· C.P.A.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  Master’s Degree preferred

· Minimum of ten (10) years accounting experience in commerce/industry

· Experience managing staff

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, excellent people management skills, unsurpassed PC skills (Excel) and a proven track record of working to tight deadlines and delivering on time performance.
