Associate Managing Partner - Los Angeles
Through involvement in recruiting, market development, opportunity pursuit, and engagement and partner quality assurance, assist the Area Managing Partner in accomplishing Tatum’s strategic and budget objectives, including building the local practice, achieving revenue and profitability goals, and increasing median partner compensation.

Market Development
Play a leadership role in expanding the market’s awareness of Tatum as the premier source of executive and consulting services.
Assist in creating and executing a local market strategy
Expand and maintain key referral source relationships
Be active and visible in appropriate business community organizations, especially on the Board or committee level.
Assume primary responsibility for several private equity firm relationships
Work with designated Tatum professionals on marketing efforts
Work with corporate marketing on marketing efforts specific to the local market
Work effectively within the market and on a firm-wide basis to promote the successful expansion of market segment and service offering initiative
Opportunity Pursuit
Match Tatum professional experience and capabilities to client needs
Lead team opportunity pursuits, including client diagnostic sessions, and private equity post-purchase agenda and resource assessments, resulting in:
A high level of likelihood that engagements will be successful in achieving client’s objectives
Opportunities that utilize multiple Tatum professionals
Conversion of position filling opportunities into solution providing engagements
Maintain Opportunity Pipeline data in a timely manner
Work with local teams to source and close new engagements at pricing levels that reflect the premium value delivered by our firm and produces attractive compensation and promotes growth in the market
Draft and negotiate (or oversee the drafting and negotiation) contracts for new engagements
When written proposals are called for, create (or oversee the creation of) effective proposals that engender firm-wide consistency and a high level of professionalism
Where appropriate market directly to potential clients in pursuit of opportunities
Actively manage client relations to insure that clients receive high quality service
During Opportunity Pursuit phase, adequately assess required depth and breadth of resources needed to effectively execute an engagement that accomplishes its objectives, and obtain client’s commitment to bringing requisite resources to bear
Recruitment and Development of Tatum Professionals
Actively solicit candidate prospects through personal and firm referral sources, and at networking events
Review, qualify, and interview prospective candidates
Manage effective orientation and integration process for new Tatum professionals
Provide coaching and perform periodic performance reviews as appropriate
General Office-wide and Firm-wide contribution
Foster a collaborative, team-oriented approach and spirit among Tatum professionals and between other Tatum offices
Support and market firm-wide opportunities and national segment opportunities
Support Firm-wide efforts by serving on task forces as appropriate
Technical requirements : Education and Experience:
4 year college degree, advanced degree preferred
Experience working and selling professional/consulting services
Financial/accounting background preferred
Job Skills and Competencies:
High level of demonstrated effectiveness developing relationships with and selling professional services to both small and large company CEOs, CFOs and Board members
Have meaningful personal contacts in accounting firms, investment bankers, private equity firms, lenders etc. and be well regarded by them
Experience, if not expertise in accounting and controllership issues
Strong communicator with a professional presence
Well organized, strategic
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good coach, listener and problem solver
Consulting experience helpful
Training Requirements:
Workplace Harassment training course
Additional training as required
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
