Its client base spans a wide range of business sectors, including telecommunications, media, hospitality, property development, transportation and leading fashion houses. Clients range in size from substantial own-managed businesses to multinational enterprises.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Auditing financial statements and group reporting packages in a variety of GAAP’s such as HKFRS, IFRS, US GAAP and other European local standards

· Keeping up to date with KPMG’s product and service offerings and identifying sales opportunities within your client base

· Working on other assurance engagements such as review engagements, SOX engagements, agreed-upon-procedure engagements and engagements relating to the reporting accountant for initial public offerings

· Supervising your engagement field team including the completion of performance reviews and providing on-site training. Liaising with your own portfolio of clients throughout the year to agree and set timetables.

· On larger clients you will act as the audit in-charge who will perform the briefing and lead the team to deliver the audit

· Timely communication with the line manager, partner and client on issues and the progress of the engagement

· Drafting the planning and finalisation memoranda for internal use, submission to overseas offices and for communicating to clients.

 

Experience

· Qualified accountant with at least 3 years audit experience with a major firm.

· Strong technical skills and an ability to research accounting issues in a wide variety of GAAPs

· Strong business awareness and an ability to identify audit issues arising from commercial transactions.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese and / or Mandarin

· Team player

· Ability to multi-task, be flexible and work under pressure

· Socially confident with good diplomacy and organisation skills

 

· Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of accountant.
