Accounts Receivable Specialist

Good Earth Teas of Santa Cruz, which has recently been acquired by the international tea company Tetley, currently has an opportunity in its Finance Department for an experienced professional who is familiar with all aspects of the Accounts Receivable cycle. We are seeking someone who is eager to take responsibility for this function and become an integral part of our finance team. Responsibilities:

• Application of cash receipts to customer accounts, including e-commerce sales
• Tracking and coding of customer deductions (billbacks, advertising, promotions, damages, returns)
• Establishing and maintaining customer contacts regarding timely payments and adequate deductions documentation
• Logging/monitoring of freight claims and general ledger account reconciliation
• Handling new customer setup and assisting in credit approval process
• Communicating with Sales Department regarding marketing programs and customer receipts and deductions
• Assisting in the preparation of cash flow requirements reports and analysis

Qualifications:

• Experience in all aspects of the A/R process (above) for a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of how it relates to the overall Accounting Cycle
• Ability to establish, modify, and/or refine procedures and policies as needed with regard to the A/R function
• Ability to work independently, as well as relate effectively with customers, members of the finance team, and other departments within the company
• Excellent skill with MS Excel and a working knowledge of MS Outlook, and, ideally, MAS200. Experience with accounting software is essential.
