Buena Vista International Television (BVITV) is the international television distribution division of The Walt Disney Company. BVITV licenses over 30,000 hours of programming to over 1,300 broadcasters across 240 territories worldwide. Its portfolio includes motion pictures from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films, network TV series, TV movies and miniseries, Disney-branded kids programs, ABC Daytime and ABC News programming, as well as the Annual Academy Awards. The company also services the distribution of the Jetix Europe portfolio of programming. An opportunity exists to join this dynamic business as a Senior Financial Analyst in its Business Operations accounting team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the general accounting and financial reporting for Buena Vista International Television. The primary responsibility is in the preparation and the presentation of accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow activity.

The ideal candidate would be familiar with Microsoft Access and COGNOS reporting tools, as well as exposure to Sarbanes Oxley reporting and control obligations. Experience with foreign exchange rate issues and the entertainment industry is a plus. The dynamics of the BVI TV team requires someone with enthusiasm, initiative, intellectual curiosity and team skills.


Primary Responsibilities :

- Prepare quarterly close financial statements and variance explanations for business with $1.2bn+ in annual turnover licensing the shows of 30 different producer groups to more than 500 TV station customers around the world
- Prepare and act upon Balance Sheet account reconciliations to ensure tight controls in place in accordance with requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act
- Prepare Cash Flow forecasts and actual for the consolidated BVITV business that includes more than thirty legal entities in many different countries
- Prepare ?By Country? P&Ls that detail business performance for management and Corporate by region/territory/country
- Perform review and variance analysis to support preparation of monthly management reports for overheads, marketing, technical and other distribution costs
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries relating to various aspects of the financial statements and help maintain GL on a day to day basis
- Super user for COGNOS tools used for budgeting and management reporting
- Run, review and provide comment on all Projects used by the division and take on responsibility as the group's SAP Projects Super User
- Liaison with various other Groups: e.g. Finance teams in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Miami, Participations on talent audits, ABC & Disney Corporate on consolidation issues, Tax, and Corporate Treasury



Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Accounting, Economics or Finance)
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 4-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience with using SAP preferred
- Ability to work independently and think critically in an extremely fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in staff supervision
- Strong organizational skills and detailed orientation with demonstrated ability to be a change agent
