ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to $65k+ -

Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a leading Manufacturing Company who has been in business for over 40 years. They offer a stable environment with excellent growth potential and competitive benefits.
Our business is fast-paced and challenging and therefore we seek an enthusiastic, energetic candidate with 7+ years of accounting management/controller experience in manufacturing and/or distribution. The ability to multi-task is a MUST. We highly prefer candidates who have a Master's degree and/or CPA certification.

Primary Responsibilities

Supervise accounting staff as well as the Human Resources department.
Oversee and direct daily operation of the Company's financial organizations and recruit, train and evaluate department staffs.
Create, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the business units including: budgeting, tax planning, cash management, and conservation of assets.
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
Direct and coordinate Company's financial planning and budgeting and budget management functions, including financial outlook and financial forecasts.
Coordinate the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for the business units and Group in a timely manner.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
Individual business unit and Group performance against budget, including analysis of variance
Performance against benchmarks (Industry and past performance based)
Analyze cash flow, inventory levels, accounts payable and receivable, cost controls and expenses for each business unit to pinpoint potential weak points
Generate financial reports, special analysis, and information reports as required or requested by Top Management.
Develop and implement finance, accounting, credit, billing and collection procedures and policies.
Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and MIS systems,
Manage banking relationships and direct and coordinate debt financing and debt servicing payments with external entities.
Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
Prepare financial analysis for business unit contract negotiations, capital equipment purchase and payback and the cost justification for new product development programs.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
Oversee and insure timely registration and tax filings.
Work with Operating Management, consultants and CPA firm in tax planning and other Treasury functions.
Evaluate sourcing options including out-sourcing and shared services to reduce the cost of routine functions and services.
Oversee and coordinate 3rd party financial audits.
Oversee payroll.
Other duties as assigned.


Skills/ Qualifications

Master's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
C.P.A. Designation preferred.
Strong working knowledge of ERP, database and accounting/reporting systems, Syspro experience preferred.
Seven+ years of experience in financial management in distribution and/or manufacturing businesses.
Excellent analytical. organizational and communication skills
